TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) offers a valuable drug-free option for managing pain during labor.
This portable device is equipped with four adhesive electrode pads that attach to the back. It delivers gentle electrical impulses through these pads, which help block the pain signals traveling to the brain during contractions.
Additionally, TENS stimulates the release of endorphins, the body's natural pain relievers, further enhancing comfort and pain relief.
Hire Process
A minimum hire period of 5 weeks is required due to the unpredictable nature of childbirth. Since your baby could arrive anywhere between 37 and 42 weeks of gestation, this 5-week window ensures your TENS unit is ready and available when labour begins.
We recommend testing out your TENS machine before labour to familiarising yourself and your partner with the settings and electrode pad placement.
